Charles Schwab tax forms not importing in TurboTax

Its on my laptop. Windows 11.    I'm told I'd have to pay another fee to try the online version.  Can the downloaded version please be fixed................

So here's my work around since TT nor Schwab could make it work on my laptop with Windows 11 installed.  I loaded the CD on my old laptop that had Windows 10 and went to download data from Schwab.   TT did force signing into the Turbo Tax site first which was successful, then onto Schwab's site.  The data was downloaded and I saved the tax return on a memory stick  then plugged the stick into my laptop with Windows 11 (its a smaller laptop which is why I like using it) and now all is a good.  Shouldn't  have to do this but so be it.....TT please continue to work on a fix.  Thanks.

When I imported my 1099-B into Turbo Tax today, Line 1d-Gross proceeds is only showing up.  It's not importing Line 1e- Cost Basis! Hence, my Realized Gain is indicating a huge Realized Gain which is inaccurate!

I ran into the same problem today 2/26/2023 and could not get TT to import my Charles Schwab Accounts.  Saw the post about changing my password and exiting TT and then trying again. This did not work.  I decided to use a different browser and this worked.  My default Brave browser was able to authenticate my connection but the tax information never imported into the program.  When I temporarily changed my default browser to FireFox then the complete process worked fine.   Lesson learned:  Try a different browser.  Hey TT - please test Charles Schwab import with Brave browser - I'm pretty sure you have an issue there.

I don't believe this is working for everyone (including me).  I  ended up using another browser and this fixed the issue.  I think there definitely is an issue with certain browsers.  I use the Brave browser - not a super popular one so it might not have been tested properly.

Glad it worked for you.   Firefox is my default and it won't go through.  Will try another I guess.

My mistake!  The cost basis was correctly brought into TT and realized gain is accurate!

A customer had previously been able to successfully import from another financial institution; however, the import would not proceed for Charles Schwab.  Customer would get the pop-up regarding Default Browser; however, the import process would not proceed.  The customer set the Default Browser to MicroSoft Edge and was able to proceed with the import from Charles Schwab.  The import was successful.  1099-DIV, 1099-INT, 1099-B and 1099-OID imported.

I had same problem - importing data from Fidelity to TurboTax Premier CD ROM/download to desktop.  After consulting with TurboTax rep, I resolved the problem by using TurboTax Premier on-line.  It worked perfectly.  Fortunately, Fidelity allows its clients to use TurboTax Premier on-line at no cost - it’s free!  It’s a better product/service than the CD-ROM/ download.  I reported this issue to TurboTax.  It’s  unclear why they haven’t addressed the problem.

It worked AFTER setting my my default browser from Chrome to Edge.

I can't transfer 1099 from Vanguard, Robinhood and E-trade. I switched browser to Edge too, still giving me this message....This import was unsuccessful, internal server error!!! Are there steps to take after switching to Edge to make it works?

If that's not working, you may want to check and make sure your financial institution or brokerage is a TurboTax 1099 partner. If it is and you are still having issues, please see the FAQ link provided below for assistance:

Those brokerage companies I tried to import are Vanguard, Etrade, Robinhood...etc. All are found on your list of partners in Turbotax.  I have tried several times on different days, turned computer on and off and it was still unsuccessful.  My computer was purchased in 2020, window 10.  I have installed Turbotax 2019,2020 and 2021 and successfully imported all brokerages forms.  Your company has to fix this and not asking customers to manually enter them.  What is the purpose of getting Turbotax if I have to manually input all these trades?
