Change to carryover excess tax payment

I carried over an excess tax payment from 2023 to 2024. TurboTax did it correctly. Hoverer the IRS notified me of a correction. Apparently the credit should have been $3 less. The IRS notified me of the error and corrected my return accordingly. I now want to file 2024 with the carryover amount less $3 because I want it to match the IRS records. Turbotax will not allow an override of this field. The dollar amount is de minimis but it will undoubtedly create a notice and adjustment for the 2024 filing. How can I avoid this?

In TurboTax Desktop Go to Federal > Other Tax Situations

1. Scroll to Additional Tax Payments
2. Select Apply Refund to next year [Update]
