it should but turbotax handling of this leaves a lot to be desired.
It is not a worthless security, it is an expired option.
the date of acquisition is the date of expiry and the date sold is the next business day.
options settle in one day.
your gain is the premium you received .

in turbotax 2019 Online, some changes were made and option handing appears to be broken.
