we can't see your return. so check all your entries. mistakes are common and Turbotax has no way to know if they're in error. if you still feel there's an issue you'll probably have to upgrade to LIVE so a Turbotax expert can help you.
No one can see your tax return or your screen. We do not know how much you owe because we cannot see it and you have not told us what "so much" is. And---there are over a dozen kinds of 1099's---we do not know what kind you have. You say you had a "retirement fund"----what do you mean? Did you take money out of a retirement account? Did you enter a 1099R? And you say you had "ssi"-----do you really mean Social Security? SSI is not the same as Social Security----so when you are asking tax questions about income it is important to give us the right terms. Did you get a 1099SSA for Social Security?
WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN SOCIAL SECURITY BENEFITS AND SSI?

Without any of your personal information, provide some more details and we may be able to help you understand why you owe tax due.
Was your 1099 a 1099-NEC?
Basically the reason you "owe so much" is that the amount of tax you had withheld during the year, or paid in estimated tax payments, was much less than the total tax on your income for the year. Did you have any tax withheld from any of your income sources? If not, that's why you owe "so much." You are paying all the tax for the year now because you didn't have any tax withheld during the year. And you probably owe a penalty in addition for not having had enough tax withheld. Even if you did have some tax withheld, you must not have had enough withheld to cover the tax on all your income.
If you want a more detailed explanation or analysis, post some details as xmasbaby0 suggested. Include the specific type and amount of each income item, and the amount of tax withheld or estimated tax payments that you made. Do not post any personal information or contact information. This is a public web site that anyone can view.
if you get a 1099-C, that is considered taxable income by the IRS.
There is no withholding.
