Bought a new computer (windows 10). Had the old stuff professionally transferred. When I opened TT (both Deluxe and Business), I get the update button, then the Continue using TT2019 button. Then I get a white box that says TT Deluxe Activation with blue dots circling around. After 10 minutes I gave up and closed it.
How do I open TurboTax?
Old computer is not usable, but the data was saved on the hard drive.
I don't see a place to enter the activation/licensing code.
I tried restarting; did the same thing.

Are you able to enter the license code?

That is strange. Frankly, I would just try restarting the computer and see if that resolves the issue and, if not, then I would reinstall the software from a download.
I have had the activation thing happen to me on one of my machines (it demanded I enter a code after I started the program despite the fact that nothing had changed); it was resolved by a restart.
I tried restarting; did the same thing.
Did you try uninstalling and reinstalling the program?
I would recommend doing a full backup prior to the uninstall, however.
Not yet; I'm saving that for last. Thanks!
Did you turn off your antivirus program when installing it or downloading it? Seems like I saw a recent FAQ for white screen recently. I'm searching.
TT support confirmed the need to uninstall and re-install with anti virus turned off.
I turned off McAfee. I still have the same problem.
Do I need to turn off Windows Defender too (windows 10)?
