An agent emailed me from an account outside of turbotax and offered services. Thinking they were just going above and beyond, I gave them my information and never heard back from them.

That sounds like a scam.  What kind of information did you give them?

Unfortunately, all of my information. But I mean she told me on turbotax to check my inbox for an email from her in a few hours. I didn't expect to be scammed from an "verified tax expert".

I am reporting this to the moderators to see if they can find out if this was legit.

@heyeness1987 Were you using one of the versions of online "Live" with which you get live help from a tax expert?   And then you never heard anything back?   Did you prepare and file your tax return?

Yes I was. And I had to get a new expert to help me. Ended up not completing them but now I'm worried about my interaction with the first expert.
