5071C letter

I received a 5071C letter on March 29, 2021. I've tried several times to login to the identity site verify that I'm me, but cannot get through. Phone calls result in hangups. however, Where's My Refund just tells me that they are still processing my return. a phone call tells the same thing. What should I do? The letter says i have 30 days to respond.

You have to keep trying. Once you get someone on the phone, it is less than 10 minutes. It is a quick process but your return will sit in processing, waiting on you. Keep trying online and by phone. This will be all you do in your spare time until you get through. Because it is a quick process, there are lots of opportunities to get lucky and get in. There are many people like you, trying. Good luck, I hope you get through soon! Once you get through, your return can move over to the next department - banking to process your refund or payment due.
