I have received my 1099-G form from unemployment through my employer for the year 2025. And it keeps saying I can only enter the year 2024. How do I go about adding it to my taxes? Am I not supposed to this year and do it next year? Help please

If you received taxable unemployment benefits, then your state and/or employer may issue you a 1099-G. TurboTax, both Online and Desktop editions, are accepting entries for the 1099-G for 2025.

The Form 1099G tax document reports the total taxable income issued to you in a calendar year. The payments are reported to the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) and must be included on your federal tax return.

You are entering the 1099-G in the wrong place. You entered it as a state income tax refund instead of as unemployment benefits. Delete the 1099-G that you entered. Under Wages & Income there is a separate topic for Unemployment. Follow the instructions in the help article that MonikaK1 referred to. The amount of unemployment benefits that you received should be in box 1 of the 1099-G.
What box is the amount in? It may be for something else like a state refund you got. Or you may be entering the Unemployment in the wrong spot.
Enter a 1099G for unemployment under
Federal on left
Wages & Income at top
Unemployment - Click the Start or Update Button
Put the total in box 1 and any withholding in box 4.
At the bottom pick - Change How I enter my Form
Then on the next screen pick I'll Type it in Myself
