Social security and railroad retirement are entered into the same space and show on the same line of the return.  If that is what you are seeing then you are seeing correctly.

Box 14 of yoru Form W-2?

Yes, the Tier 1 tax in box 14 of a RR job W-2 is equivalent to SS withholding.

You haven't detailed what exact issue is though.   What is causing a problem ? (IF it's due to box 14 on a W-2)

    _______________________________________

    Guessing one or 2 situations.

    1) IF you have more than one W-2 from multiple employer jobs, say one is a RR job and another one from some other type of employer....then the total of the RR  W-2, box 14, Tier 1 $$, plus the SS box 4 from the other W-2 employer....that total might exceed the maximum of 8853.60 for the 2021 tax year, and the software might indicate that you paid an excess into SS.....and due some refund

    or maybe

    2)   You have Tier 1 tax in box 14, and there is some kind of other error.  Occasionally, a RR W-2 fails to include all 4 entries...a) RR Retirement "Compensation", b) RR Tier 1 tax , and c) RR Tier 2 tax, and d) RR Medicare Tax.  Depending on what's displayed & entered, it might generate an error.
