Questions about "Here's a Picture of your Income"

And the end of entering income in the interview TT presents a screen titled "Here's a Picture of Your 20xx Income".  It summaries things like Wages and Salaries, Interest, Dividends, Tax-exempt interest, Partnership S Corp etc.

1.) How can I find all the contributions of the category "Partnership, S Corp, etc."?  There doesn't seem to be a worksheet showing where all of this comes from.

2.) At the bottom of this screen there's a "Total Income" number.  However this does not exactly match the total income on the 1040.  Why?

Thanks.

Questions about "Here's a Picture of your Income"

If we are talking about 2019, Rental real estate, royalties, partnerships, S corporations, trusts, etc. is Line 5 on Schedule 1 or Form 1040.    Are all items making up the amount on this line are listed on Schedule E.  The reason the Total Income does not exactly match the income on Form 1040 is because some of the amounts shown might be adjusted - i.e. not 100% taxable, or if a loss, not deductible.  I would not be concerned about a difference there.

Thank you for this info!

I love the summary screens you see at the end of the interview sections.  I screen snip them and save them each year so I can do a fast error check with previous returns.  Unfortunately you can't print them unless you snip them.

It would be really nice if you could click on each category and see where the amounts came from :-).

You're welcome!  And I agree with you about clicking fields to drill down and see where the amount comes from.  That ability exists in the Forms mode of TurboTax Desktop.  If you like seeing the forms and schedules as you work on your return, you can switch from the Step-by-Step mode to Forms mode.
