Problem/possible error in premier edition: from estimated state tax summary to Schedule A in 1040 return - program transfers an incorrect amount. what is going on?

"estimated state tax summary" - where do you see this? And how much is the amount?

"Schedule A " - Can you see Schedule A? If so, what are the values in lines 5a through 5e?

for my example: 

working backwards from Sch A :taxes you paid: line 5a 6890

tax and interest deduction worksheet, line 1h 6890

state and local tax deduction worksheet Line 1: 6890

tax payments worksheet: line 29 7320

Where did the money go between 7320 and 6890 ??????

BUT

If you made a State estimated tax payment for the 4th Qtr in January of 2022?  That payment can't be used for 2021 Federal deductions for 2021 taxes .....even if it is used as a State credit for 2021.   

That Jan State payment must wait to be used in the 2022 Federal tax return as part of your state tax payments deductions

All 2021 Estimated tax payment were made in 2021.  That is not the reason. 

If TT would let persons attach a file copy, it would simplify this process. 

Why do they not let you email directly back?????

The TT program needs updating badly, many areas are frustrating, especially if going thru the step by step process several times.

Well, if you can't find a specific $430 that accounts for it....then there isn't an easy way in this PUBLIC forum to find it.  We have experience with most common situations, but sometimes a certain detail with someone's file can't be guessed at without actually having yoru tax file...and that should never be shared here in public.

You "can" call TTX and screenshare with a rep....and perhaps they can find it.

They also have a way to get a "diagnostic" copy of your tax file, should extra investigation become necessary.
