My turbotax online software is saying
"Looks like the October 16th deadline to add a state or amend your return online has passed, but not to worry! In 3 quick steps you can make changes to your filed return."
But this is wrong! Both the CA state FTB and Federal IRS extended our filing deadline to Nov 16th.
Can you please update this online? What should I do?

@tgogineni follow the TT instructions. Just because CA was giving until November 16th to file, doesn't mean TT was going to leave the online system available for 2022.
TT;s problem is they have 6 weeks to adjust the website from 2022 to 2023, so they have to balance the needs of customers who are still trying to complete their 2022 tax return with customers who are trying to begin assessing their 2023 tax situation before the year ends. I guess TT figures they make more money off those who want to begin 2023 than they lose by not giving customers trying to complete 2022.
FOLLOW THE TT directions for their work-around is my advise.
The online system in now in transition from 2022 returns to 2023 returns. You will be able to access the return you started by using the exact same account and user ID that you used when you started it. But you can no longer use online software for any further changes.
Online tax preparation and e-filing for 2022 returns is now permanently closed.
Now it is too late to use online software or to e-file. If you have any changes/corrections at all to make to your 2022 return, you now have to complete it using desktop software, which you must download to a full PC or Mac (not to a mobile device). Then you need to print, sign and mail it.
If you already paid for your online software you can ask customer support for a download of the desktop software.

If you are getting a refund, there is no penalty for filing late. If you owe tax due, then file and pay the amount due as shown on the Form 1040, but expect a bill later from the IRS for the penalty and interest you will owe. Only the IRS will calculate this—TurboTax will not calculate it.
When you mail a tax return, you need to attach any documents showing tax withheld, such as your W-2’s or any 1099’s. Use a mailing service that will track it, such as UPS or certified mail so you will know the IRS/state received the return.
Federal and state returns must be in separate envelopes and they are mailed to different addresses. Read the mailing instructions that print with your tax return carefully so you mail them to the right addresses.
I have the same problem, and first of all, how could TT not have warned people in CA of this?? I was about to file on Oct 16 using the system and then delayed and only now find out I can't even access everything I entered much less file it. It is outrageous that they didn't warn people. And now when I did the workaround and downloaded TT desktop and opened my 2022 return, it thinks I am filing for 2023! How do I address that?
Did you download the 2023 software by mistake?

Was almost done in time to file tonight and got locked out! WTH TurboTax!
@autumnsflame01 E-filing closed for 2022 returns after October 31---so since then your only way to file a 2022 return has been by mail. You will have to print, sign and date your 2022 return in ink, and mail it.
