I am included in the Bailey Settlement/Why am I now Paying North Carolina tax

I have been using Turbo Tax for a number of years. Heretofore I have not payed any North Carolina State Income Tax. Why now in 2018?

In TurboTax, edit your Bailey eligible 1099-R:

If a 1099-R form was Bailey-Eligible...did you indicate that when you entered that 1099-R in the Federal section?

IF you indicated "Bailey Settlement" there, then it has been so marked and considered so in the NC section.
IF you didn't do that, then you need to go back to the 1099-R entry and EDIT it, then continue through the pages that follow to mark it as Bailey..

Note: The Bailey Pension does not affect your NC refund or amount due.
