Pershing NetXInvestor 1099 Import

Darn!  I categorized all my transactions this week by hand and e-filed.  I guess they didn't want to give me false hope that they were working on a fix.  Great news for those who haven't filed yet.

Instead of choosing "NetXInvestor" or "Pershing", I chose "Securian Financial Services" and was FINALLY able to connect my account. Hope this works for you! @yecart

Unfortunately, I haven't got to the issues mentioned here. I can't seem to get past the sign on process... I select the option I've used in the past, then enter the same information I use to sign into NetXInvestor.com. TurboTax accepts the information and brings up a dialogue box telling me it is attempting to establish a secure connection, then it leaves me on the sign data screen. No error message, no panel movement, just stuck on the same screen. Anyone else having this issue?

My suspicion is that you are trying too early to file.  I called a week ago and they said Pershing wouldn't be available for import until mid March.  I suggest you hold off until then.  Last year I entered everything manually and then they fixed all bugs mid March.

Thanks for the response!  I’ll monitor the situation and give it another try after the 15th.

It could be a couple of possibilities. One is that the password was entered incorrectly, you will need to grant third-party access for Turbo Tax to import. Also, it could be that there are too many individual transactions to import as the limit is 1500.

As we do not have access to your account or return, rest assured, we are looking to provide a solution or viable workaround.

Please refer to these Turbo Tax articles for additional assistance.

Thanks for your response. Unfortunately, I get no error message. So, I don’t know what the issue is. As for the password, I have gone as far as cutting and pasting the one I use to access the NetX website. I have even tried different company numbers based on some info I found. Neither made a difference. I also checked to see if the number of transactions exceeds 1500 and they don’t. Is there anything else I can check?

Start by checking if your financial institution or brokerage is a TurboTax 1099 partner (opens new page; scroll down and select the 1099/1098 Partner tab).  If your institution isn't on the list, you won't be able to import.   In these cases, enter the form manually.   There is a button you can click on to enter manually.

Also make sure you're selecting the correct partner in TurboTax. Some have similar-sounding names but are in fact separate entities. For example, J.P. Morgan Chase Bank, J.P. Morgan Funds, J.P. Morgan Private Bank, and J.P. Morgan Securities are all listed as TurboTax partners, and if you choose the wrong J.P. Morgan, you won't be able to import.

Once you've confirmed that your institution is a participating partner, make sure you're using the proper login on the import page and that you have a working internet connection. A wired connection, if available, may be more stable than wireless.

Still having trouble? Bear in mind that even if you have the hard copy of your 1099-B in hand, your institution might not have it ready for import until late February or early March, sometimes even later. We'll display your institution's "ready for import" date in TurboTax.

Finally, if you're still not able to import your 1099, you can always enter it manually. Select I'll type it in myself or Skip Import and proceed.

I notice you have a lot of responses.  Based on my experience last year, I still encourage you to hang tight.  I received my paper copy of my 1099 from Pershing but it is classified as pending.  I think they wait a bit to allow final imports.  I am no tax expert just a long time Pershing investor and TurboTax user.   I am waiting a little longer this year after my experience last year and my phone call with TurboTax in February.

For those having difficulty in importing from NetxInvestor (Pershing):

  • The Financial Institution code is 3CR
  • It seems we need to wait a few days before the 1099 we see in our documents folder can be imported
  • It's the attempting to file early penalty

where did you find the document ID required for download?

The financial code won't always be 3CR - it varies based on which broker-dealer your account is with (Pershing is just the "clearing firm".  Sometimes the first three characters of your account number will be the same as your office code, but not always as some broker-dealers have more than one set of characters for their accounts, but will still have just one "office code".  If you're unsure of your office code, you will have to ask your broker.   @NeilWinward

I agree, the financial code varies for each customer.  I need to use this code every time I log into my account with NetX.  Mine is prefilled in usually so I only need to use my user ID and password but the 3rd field for financial code is always requested upon login.   Hope this helps.

After reading the reviews for trouble signing in on NetXInvestor Pershing back in 2021 and 2022, I experienced the same problem with trying to connect today March 22, 2024.

The client used the same login to her brokerage, however, when the client used the same credentials to login to the brokerage account in TTO, the message says there "There was no account found".

All reports in this area, all say no problems for the last 5 years, but now since 2021, this link with Pershing is no successful.
