PDF Imports

Why can't I upload my PDF versions for 1099/1098?  It is only giving me option to connect online or Tax file imports.

You can not upload certain forms into TurboTax as a pdf.  You can easily manually input these forms into TurboTax as follows:

You can enter your Form 1099-INT information manually using the steps below:

1. Open your return
2. In the search Bar enter Form 1099-INT
3. Select "Jump to 1099-INT"
4. It will ask, "Did you have investment income in 2024?" Select "Yes"
5. Select "Continue"
6. Select "Skip Import"
7. You will Select your investment type which is "Interest"
8. You will "Continue"
9. Then you will see the screen "Let's get the info from your 1099-INT"
10. You will type in the information from your Form 1099-INT on that page.

This is for Form 1099-INT, but it works as well for other Forms 1099 by switching the name of the form.

To manually enter a Form 1098 in TurboTax you can do the following:

1. Click on the search icon at the top right of your TurboTax screen
2. Type "1098" in the search bar
3. Click on the link "Jump to 1098"
4. Enter your Form 1098 and answer all of the follow-up questions accurately
