Yes, you can enter interest income without entering an Employer Identification Number (EIN), if you enter the information manually.
Here's how to do that:
- Sign in to your TurboTax account.
- Select Wages & Income.
- Scroll down to Interest on 1099-INT, select Start or Revisit to the right.
- Select Add Investment.
- Answer Yes to Did you have investment income in 2023?
- On the screen Let's import your tax info, select Enter a different way at the bottom right.
- Select the interest tile, then Continue.
- Select Type it in myself at the bottom.
- Enter US Treasury as the name and the amount of interest in box 1.
- Select Continue, then answer any remaining questions in the section.
