Once we install the program on my HP computer, how do I get the program to automatically transfer the 2022 data to the 2023 return. Both are on the same computer.

You need to start the TurboTax desktop program for tax year 2023. Then start a New Tax Return. The program will look in the TurboTax folder in the Documents directory and will present you with a list of 2022 tax returns it has found. You then select the 2022 tax return that you want to transfer to the 2023 return.

If there are no 2022 tax returns presented then you have to Browse to the location where you saved the 2022 tax data files.
