Omitted SSI from 2021 taxes. IRS sent paperwork, bill, we signed. paid in '23. How to update 2021 in Turbotax? Don't need to file again, need it to know we paid Fed due!

Started Ammended return, can't understand how to close it. TT thinks we owe $5K. No so, we paid, Feds processed & completed Oct '23.  None of "Tell us about...ammended return" choices applicable. We filed outside of Turbotax, its processed. Done. Just want to clear TT..

You don't need to Amend your 2021 return if you paid the IRS what was due from the bill they sent.

Just save a copy of the bill, your payment info, and a copy of the return you actually filed for 2021.
