No U.S. Credit Card. Unable to Buy TurboTax

Hi. Sorry for the delay in responding. I had some hope that Intuit - TurboTax would come around to a more rational position regarding foreign-domiciled users of their software, but no such luck... Again, this year, only credit cards billed to a US address can be used.

The most surprising to me is that Intuit-TurboTax do not even take the time to explain this policy to the no doubt thousands of long-term expats with no US address who are frustrated by this. 

Last year, I was still sending US currency through the mail to a friend in the US who had shared his credit card details with me. Not a good solution! This year, I found a US expat living nearby in Switzerland who trusted me enought to give me his credit card details, so I can just hand him the money of invite him to lunch... 

Intuit, if you read these messages, please explain this instance of very poor customer relations from an otherwise top-notch company.

In my experience, Intuit executives and development team don't tend to read the forum and almost certainly won't reply here.  If you want to make sure it's seen at the executive level and want to hear back,  you can share your experience with the office of the president of Intuit, and they will see that it gets to the right team.  They say they will respond in 24 hours, but this is a holiday weekend.

Hey everyone, I'm a U.S. citizen living in Canada over the past 20 years and just this year experienced all the problems described in this forum with no credit card with a U.S. address. I couldn't even update my credit card info for the downloadable product for 2024 because it has a Canadian address! So, I called the Intuit help desk and the conclusion was I couldn't purchase Turbotax for 2024 and thus basically cannot use their product anymore!

I just tried out HR Block's expatonline product and had zero problems, including paying with my credit card with a Canadian address. So, problem solved by switching to the HRBlock product for me.
