Do all W-2 forms from the same company have the same Control number?

Do you have more than 1 from the same company?  And it’s not just another copy?  You sometimes get 4 copies.  Why did you get them?

No I only have one but I keep getting an error saying my Control Number is not valid. My roommate works at the same place so I didn't know if I could use the one on there's. I have been on hold with Turbo Tax for 2 and a half hours and then I read on their site where it says you can use 5 numbers a pace and then 5 more numbers and it let me file. So I hope that is alright.

If you are manually entering the W2 just leave box blank.

I tried and it said I needed something there. It kept sending me back.

No, those are used by payroll companies and can be left blank if you choose. See below.
