No free state print with premier desktop

don’t have my free state print. I bought the desktop premier from Costco. The cover says one print free state.

There are a few issues. First, it downloaded California along the updates when I opened it up after the installation. I don’t know why but I didn’t pay attention. But when I finished the federal and started my state (Illinois), it asks me $45 to prepare. I called the support they believed it is California that caused the problem but they didn’t know how to remove it. Second, I reinstalled TT. This time I didn’t update when I launched it. So no California is downloaded.  But I am still asked to pay $45 to start the Illinois. This seems a SCAM! Talking to TT tech support was frustrating. They have no idea and ask me to file refund request to TT.  I will talk to them again. But if anyone has any idea, please! Appreciate it

If you want to delete a State, go to FILE at the top menu, and choose 'Remove State Return'.  A box will pop up with your state returns; highlight California and click on 'Remove' at the bottom.

Then go to ONLINE at the top and choose 'Check for Updates'.

This should resolve your problem.  If not, post again and we'll try to help.
