Do you mean the price isn't better? Just checked Intuit's site, Deluxe plus one state is $70. Amazon is $45.
I am disappointed that no disc is available as well.
Looking at options other than turbotax after using this product for many years.
No cd? Time to switch to h & r

H&R block does not have CD's either.
I have the same problem! I have had my computer crash and had to reload from the CD. It seems like the IRS wanted some info a few years ago and I had to reload from the CD to do it. I keep all of my CD's for the last 20 years and had to reload a few times. And I bought another computer and installed from the CD to that. I don't know if you can do that with a download. I want a CD.
So? What if my computer crashes or I get another computer? Can I download that again to the same computer? or new computer?
I still have the 1999 thru 2023 Turbo Tax from the CD installed on my computer! It seems like the IRS asked for some information for a few years back and I had to reload from the cd to computer.
@rpswartz Yes you can download it again or to a new computer.
Since you now have to log into an Intuit Account all your downloads and licenses are listed there (even if you bought it from somewhere else) so if you need to download to install it again or install on another computer, even on the other operating system (Windows, Mac). And the download will always be up to date with all the updates.
After you get the program installed or reinstalled the first thing to do before you open your tax return is to update the program and install any state programs you had. Then open your file. So you first might need to start a fake return to be able to download the state program (go to File-New Tax Return).
Then go to FILE -Open and find your return.
But even if you have the CDs you won’t be able to reinstall 2020 or prior. They only support the last 3 years. And the License Code started in 2019. So 2019 and newer needs to connect to Turbo Tax to verify the License Code. But they have stopped supporting 2020 and prior. So you can’t activate 2019 and each year going forward.
And if you do get 2018 and prior installed you won’t be able to update it or download any state programs. So you should save all your returns to a pdf file with all the worksheets. Open each year and save them now if you haven’t already.
And it costs the same as tax prep with a tax service. Ridiculous.
I am not very computer savvy and must state the I am also very disappointed with Intuit Turbo Tax.
Not only has the price of your key code increased by over $20, a disc is no
longer provided so thats an additional cost to the consumer when people are already burdened financially!!
i also have an older computer that I can not afford to replace and now I wont have my tax return in disc form in case I have computer issues and beed to transfer the file to a different computer.
Dissatisfied with Intuit's decision to no longer provide a disc format is an understatement

I am not computer savvy what a disappointment to the older generations who are not familiar with downloading, burning and copying to discs, flashdrives etc
Agree. But we of the older generation were never a group that TT would care about.
Ditto for me as well
@Dj2024 If you want a CD you can now buy an install CD for $10 AFTER you buy the download and License Code for the version you want. That’s if you don’t want to use the download method or want to reinstall or install it another computer.

But you don’t need the CD to install on another computer. Also your tax return has never been saved on the disc. It is only on the computer you prepare it on. So to move or transfer it to a new computer you need to copy the tax data files ending in .tax2023 or .tax2024 etc using a flash drive or something.
