I can not eFile the NJ 2021 tax return because of an error message from TurboTax W2 Wage and Tax form that reads "New Jersey UI/WF/SWF cannot be greater than $155" (which is less than the amount on my W2). How do I resolve this error? Looks like a similar question was posted in prior tax years, but the answer/solution is not accessible.

The maximum NJ UI/WF/SWF deduction for 2021 is actually $153.85. If the amount on your W-2 is more than that, the employer withheld too much.
To eliminate the error in TurboTax, just enter 153.85 instead of the actual amount on the W-2. It's okay to enter a smaller amount. When one employer withheld more than the maximum, you cannot claim credit for the excess on your tax return. The employer should refund the excess to you, but if the amount is small it's probably not worth the effort to pursue it.

What about for 2022?
For 2022, the maximum employee contribution:
UI/WF/SWF — $169.15
Hi, I got an error message saying that amount I put in box 14 can't be greater than $169 (stands for NJ UI\WF\SWF limit). I originally put in $381 as what my W2 is showing for my 1st employer, Turbotax won't accept it. I follwed the instructions even though its less than $212, thinking I can go get the difference from my employer. Wrong!!! it only applies if you have a single employer. SEE ATTACHED!!!
NJ Division of Taxation - NJ Income Tax - Other Credits (UI/DI/FLI) (state.nj.us)
If you have two employers that supposed to be automatic tax credit or refund and it will show on your NJ-1040
line 59 as excess payment for UI\WF\SWF. I have two employers, I was deducted ($381 & $120).
My total deductions for the two employers is $501 subtract the $169, I should have gotten $332 for refund.
Since Turbo tax accepts only $169 and the $120 for my two employers, when it generated a NJ 2450 form,
here's the breakdown: $169 + $120 = $289 minus the $169 (as NJ limit), I only got $120 refund.
If only Turbo Tax accepted the amount of $381from the W2 my 1st employer, I could have all the right amount of refund.
The problem I communicated here, I called the customer service, and everyone I talked to have their different opinions, which is baseless, and does not believe that TurboTax has an issue. One rep. even says that there is no problems ever reported; NOT TRUE!!! there's a lot of post of this issue here.
Next time I will be discouraged to use TurboTax and maybe not recommend it, until they resolve the issues.
