I didn't read your other posts so I don't know what was answered. But that screen means you can't efile a WA state return (I know you don't have one). But you can't efile federal yet either. See if you can Delete the state.
Duplicate message
What was your message? I didn't see any, much less a duplicate...
If you were referring to my post being a duplicate, I did post it in 3 different topics because it is relevant to all 3. This is information that will help people.
Your reply about WA not having state taxes is true, and I said that in my original post. This has nothing to do with the IRS not accepting e-file; I have a screenshot of the TurboTax page where it specifically says WA State is not allowing e-file unless you qualify for the WFTC. I will attach it.
You have another thread:
We do- there are 3 posted because they are relevant to all 3 topics.

Respectfully----posting about the same issue in multiple threads just makes it very confusing for those of us who are trying to help you. You should keep your related questions in one thread. And....you are pretty worked up about not being able to e-file ---- e-filing is not open yet You might need to be patient and wait until e-filing opens, and you could benefit from reading the WA website information about the credit you are concerned about---you will see that there are several ways for you to apply for that credit ---on the WA site.
Another link to the WA site for that Working Family credit:
https://workingfamiliescredit.wa.gov/
Near the top of the screen on that site you will see the word "Apply" . If you click that you will get a drop down menu with multiple ways to apply for the credit.
Respectfully, it wasn't really a question. And there was this-
which contradicts your 'explanation'.
We are not eligible for the credit, as TurboTax informed us when we got to the "Skip State" part...as I said in the original post. I think you need to go back and re-read what I wrote, any of the 3 say the same thing, and see that none of your 'answers' are correct or relevant to my statement. A WA resident who does not apply or qualify for the WFTC CANNOT e-file through TurboTax at any time, according to the site and process itself as the picture I uploaded shows.
Reiterating- the original post was not a question.
@Dandh15 I have posted a question about this to the moderators. Since WA has no state income tax, it is mystifying that this screen is even appearing. Hopefully someone will figure it out... but meanwhile, e-filing is not open yet anyway, so you are not being prevented from e-file because of this now.
VolvoGirl- I tried it a few different ways before going back into it and finally at least trying and that's when we got the message that we didn't qualify according to what we had already provided and we were able to "Skip State". It wasn't until the very end I got that message. You also cannot clear and start over once you pay for an upgrade. We have been using TT for 20 years and we understand how e-filing works. This is a whole other issue that is not Intuit's fault- all I was doing was trying to give feedback.
Last year, we e-filed the same day (1/9/24) and it was processed and accepted through TurboTax, but not the IRS. The IRS didn't start accepting for at least a week to 10 days after that. I know the drill. This is a whole other issue caused by something the State did. I spoke with TT customer service earlier and they also are going to report on this feedback. The point I was making is that the filer won't find out till the end of the process and once you pay, you can't go back in and clear anything and start over. This is for filers who know they will not qualify for the credit and know there is no state forms to file, and want to e-file.
