Needing help with 1099-MISC

These questions in TurboTax help guide it to determine whether it should ask you as to whether you had any expenses related to the income that you would want to deduct.

So, if your job as a hostess, was similar to your main job (same type of work), then you could answer the question with "yes" and later deduct expenses related to that income (you may have to upgrade your TurboTax program to enter the expenses).  If the hostess job is not the same skill set as your main job, or you don't have any business expenses associated with it, then you can answer "no."
