need 40 dollar refund

 i purchased turbotax desktop online already, why would the software by default select the pay via santa babara stpg account, this charge is ridiculous and i don't need to pay anything to get my refund. will need refund for this default set option, which i do not need to use.

It sounds like the "Pay With My Refund" option was selected when you were checking out. TurboTax may default to the "Pay With My Refund" (Santa Barbara TPG) option if you do not explicitly select to pay your fees upfront. This adds a service fee.

In the Desktop program it is $20 or 25 to efile each state return including the first one.  Did you do a state return?  Then if you want the state fee deducted from your refund there is an EXTRA $40 Pay with Refund fee which you can avoid by paying with a credit card.  Or you can print and mail state for free.

People usually get going too fast at the end and click on the wrong button on this screen.

yes, if you already bought the software, why would this even appear in the user interface? doesn't make sense to ask you how to pay it if you already purchased the software.
