My return was accepted on April 17th. I made my payment by Credit Card. Nothing has hit my account yet as far as a payment. I contacted IRS. They can't tell me anything.

"I made my payment by Credit Card."

Are you saying you paid the TurboTax fee with a credit card.?

Once your tax return is ACCEPTED, you have to deal with the IRS going forward.

I used the free version of Turbo Tax. I owed this year and paid by credit card. I called IRS to get an update they told me to contact Turbo Tax. I feel like there is not one single person in this whole universe that can give me an answer why my payment hasn't gone through.

Your credit card statement will tell you whether or not your payment went through.

I've been checking that every day since April 18th. Trust me I've been staying on top of this

contact the Payment Processer service you selected and ask why the payment has not been made.

When will my tax payment go through?

(If you’re filing your taxes on 4/18/22 and are having direct debit issues, go here.)

During non-peak times, funds are usually withdrawn on the payment date you specify, assuming your e-filed return has already been accepted (received) by the IRS.

If that date happens to fall on a weekend or federal holiday, the funds are typically withdrawn the next business day.

Now, if you filed right before (or on) the busy 4/18/22 deadline, the IRS may not be able to debit your payment until after the deadline, due to high e-filing volume. In addition, it can take your bank another few days to post the debit to your account.

No worries; as long as you filed your return or extension on or before 4/18/22 and you selected 4/18/22 (or earlier) as your payment date, you won't get penalized for late payment.

In the meantime, keep an eye on your bank account — if you still don't see the debit 7–10 days after your return has been accepted, call IRS e-file Payment Services at 1-888-353-4537 or contact your state tax agency, as appropriate.

How/where did you make the credit card payment for taxes due?  You cannot do so in TT, but rather must do so here:

Pay Your Taxes by Debit or Credit Card or Digital Wallet | Internal Revenue Service (irs.gov)

So what did I pay for when I selected payment date of 4/17/22 and entered my credit card number on TT? I use the free version so I know I'm not paying TT anything.

I just looked at my IRS account on ID.me and it shows that I have a $0 balance due and also shows my payment I made was processed and cleared in April. I'm glad to see that it was processed but now my issue is that I have no idea where the payment came out of. A payment has never hit my account even though the IRS says it was processed back in April. This is all so stupid.

Please review how you request the payment to be made by reviewing the PDF of the return ... on the filing instruction page the payment request should be shown.

How do I review the method I chose to pay my federal income tax with, after filing with TurboTax Online?

You can verify the tax payment method you chose on the Electronic Filing Instructions for your 2021  Federal Tax Return page, next to Balance Due/Refund. To see the page, follow these instructions:

  1. Open your return if it’s not already open.
  2. On the [Your name], your 2021  federal return was accepted! screen, scroll down and select Add a State (don’t worry, we’re not adding a state) to access your tax forms and worksheets.
  3. On the left side select Tax Tools then Print Center.
  4. On the TurboTax Print Center screen, select Print, save or preview this year’s return.
  5. On the next TurboTax Print Center screen, select 2021 federal returns and Include government and TurboTax worksheets (optional) then select View or print forms.
  6. The information will be on the first page, Electronic Filing Instructions for your 2021 Federal or State Tax Return next to Balance Due/Refund.

In the future may I suggest you pay the federal (and state if allowed) directly on the fed or state websites ... this way you have the control on the timing and get an instant confirmation of the payment.   https://www.irs.gov/payments

It took the IRS 8 weeks to credit my payment

Not a surprise as the IRS is woefully behind in processing returns and balance dues are put on the "back burner" while returns with refunds get preferential treatment.  If you filed timely and your payment method is valid then you are not hit with penalties/interest since the IRS took forever to process the payment.

If your payment does not appear on your upcoming  statement, look for it on next month's statement.

I'll do that. I'm not really as concerned about as I was since the IRS is showing it has been paid.
