It might be as simple as not properly formatting the amount. Example: xx,xxx.00 where the xs are the values of your AGI. I hope this helps.

You have to enter the 2020 AGI from the 2020 Federal Tax return, Form 1040 Line 11, so that you can e-file the 2021 tax return.

To access your prior year online tax returns sign onto the TurboTax website with the User ID you used to create the account - https://myturbotax.intuit.com/

Scroll down to the section Your tax returns & documents.  Click on the Year and Click on Download/print return (PDF)

If you used the desktop CD/Download editions installed on your computer, the only copy of your tax data file and any PDF's will be on the computer where the return was created.  TurboTax does not store online any returns completed using the desktop editions.

Or go to this IRS website for free federal tax return transcripts - https://www.irs.gov/individuals/get-transcript

For a fee of $43 you can get a complete federal tax return from the IRS by completing Form 4506 - http://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/f4506.pdf

If the IRS rejects the correct 2020 AGI then enter a 0 (zero) for the 2020 AGI and e-file the tax return again.

The irs rejected the correct 2020 agi that showed on turbo tax. So I’ll try entering 0 and see if that fixes it.do I need to enter 2021 w2 to file taxes or not?

ANY income you received in 2021 from ANY source has to be reported on your 2021 tax return, so Yes you have to enter the 2021 W-2 you received on your 2021 tax return before it is filed.

Do you mean for the AGI to efile?  You need to enter your 2020 last year AGI to efile the 2021 return.

Did you enter your 2021 W2 into your tax return under wages?   You do have to report all your 2021 income.  You don't enter it again for the AGI to efile.
