If there is no difference in your refund amount when claiming the standard deduction or claiming itemized deductions, then TurboTax is recommending the standard deduction so that you will be filing a less complicated tax return. If you do not need the additional deductions to maximize your refund then there is no need to file the extra Schedule A with your return.
One thing to consider though, the recommendation from TurboTax to use the standard deduction does not take your state return into account. So, you might want to double-check whether your state refund/balance due changes when you switch from the standard deduction to itemized and vice versa.
