My form 1099-DIV only has one line filled-in, which is line 1a for ordinary dividends totaling $84.84. But my form 1040 line 3b for ordinary dividends is $170. Why?

It got in there twice.  $84.84 rounded is 85.  85x2=170.  Either you entered it twice or did you import some 1099 forms and also manually enter it?

Go back and see if it is listed twice.

Yes, if that is your only 1099-DIV, it must be entered twice. If you imported a 1099-B or 1099-INT from the same company, it may have imported the 1099-DIV also.

Here's how to check:

  1. Sign in to TurboTax.
  2. Select Income & Expenses.
  3. Select Pick up where I left off or Review.
  4. Select Update to the right of Investments and Savings (1099-B, 1099-INT, 1099-DIV, 1099-K, Crypto).
  5. Check to see if you have two dividend forms for $85 from the same company. If yes, select the trash can icon under one of them to delete it.
