My disabled parent lives with me and I am looking to file them as a dependent on my tax return. Does their disability income count towards their gross income?

When I try to add a dependent, it asks if their gross income is over $4700. I’ve seen some articles saying their disability doesn’t count and some saying it does. Thank you

The $4,700 refers to taxable income so you are correct in that you have to know if the disability income is taxable which depends on the circumstances of each taxpayer.
