My company name has changed but on w2 it has new name and FKA name, do i need to change name to read exactly like it is on W2 or is it ok to have the FKA name only

the Employer ID number pulled up as the FKA (formerly known name)

Either. The EIN is the most important info for the payer. There is a second line to enter Employer name line 2 on the form. Add the FKA name to the second line if you wish. 

• Select My Account
• Tools
• Topic Search
• Type w-2 and GO
• Edit next to the W-2 with second name,
• Enter FKA name
