What is oob? Do you work for them as an employee or are you a independent contractor or self employed? Do you get a W2 or 1099? Why do you need the EIN?
"oob"---out of business?
Were you a W-2 employee of that employer for last year? If so, the EIN will be found on your past year W-2. But TurboTax does not have your W-2. The pdf of your tax return will have worksheets that show the data you entered.
Employers have until January 31 to issue W-2's. Are you certain that the employer will not submit one to the IRS for its employees, even if they went out of business before the year ended? It is too soon for you to expect to get one at this point.
Since there's a parent company that's still in existence, they most likely made arrangements to send out W-2s for the company that went out of business. Wait until early February and see if you get a W-2. The company's EIN and all the other information that you need for your tax return will be on the W-2. Don't try to make up a W-2 that you did not actually receive. Making it up yourself will just lead to trouble with the IRS and will seriously delay your refund.
