Also it usually takes the IRS 2-3 years to audit.   Whoever told you that either did not understand your situation or was incompetent to give tax advice.

Which state are you in?  Did that lady sign your tax return as the preparer?

I should go to you guys then.. Tax experts 🙂  we still got our taxes so I don't see how it's a problem? I'm sure they would have told us something about it instead of risking their jobs? Thanks for your help.
