Since the IRS does not have your 2022 AGI in their database, you need to enter a 0 (zero) for the 2022 AGI and e-file your tax return again.
And what does Turbo Tax say about your 2022 return?
When you log into your account you should see the status and if it was Accepted or Rejected, Started, Printed, Ready to Mail, etc. what does it say?
Then when you efile you get back 2 emails. The first email only confirms the transmission. The second email says if the IRS (or state) Accepte.d or Rejected your efile. Check back though your emails if you have them.
You can get it from a copy of your last year Tax Return.
You can get it from IRS direct if you set up an account in the Transcript tab.
If you cannot get it fast enough, then you need to Print your return and Mail it out so you are not hit with a Late Filing Penalty. If you choose to mail, I suggest using Certified Mail Return Receipt Requested so you have verified proof of mailing.
Hope this helps
TurboTax says that my 2022 return was accepted, at both the state and federal level.
I am having the same issue (sorry that I don't have an answer).
- I filed in 2022 via TurboTax, on time
- I can see federal & state withdrawals/refunds processed in my bank account in 2022
- I have the emails from 2022 saying my returns were "accepted", and they also say "accepted" in the TurboTax interface
- I have an account with the IRS website, and when I try to download the 2022 transcript it states that they have no record of a processed tax return
I tried both the AGI from TurboTax's records as well as "0", and both were rejected.
The IRS uses your prior year AGI to combat fraud.
You can find your 2022 Adjusted Gross Income (AGI) by:
Check these items as well to ensure you have the correct number. If you:
Time-saving Tip: If what you entered is correct and you continue to get a reject, you won't be able to e-file. There's probably a data mismatch at the government, or some other situation beyond your control that prevents your return from being e-filed. In this case, your only option would be to print and mail in your return.
This article will give you instruction on how to print and mail your return.
