Thank you for reaching out to Intuit's TurboTax Ask the Experts Event. Yes, you should be able to claim your son as a dependent in 2022. The rules for claiming a qualifying child are:
To claim a qualifying child, you must be able to answer "yes" to all of the following questions.
Regarding the cost of community college, you should receive a 1098T from the school that shows the amount of expenses paid. You would also be able to add costs for books that are not included on the 1098T. This may qualify you for the American Opportunity Credit which is up to $2,500 per year for the 1st 4 years of college based on income limits.
