Turbo tax would not let me e-file when I enter two W-2 forms for the same state for the same employer FED ID. The box 1 through 14 are the same but two W-2 with different Employer's state ID box 15 through box 17 for the same state gives check the error message. Turbo tax keep asking to remove "duplicate" although it is not. Also Turbo tax indicate only one entry should be made for box 15. At final stage even after E-file is paid it would not transmit. Due to same FED ID with the with two different w-2's for the same state, Turbo tax fail to differentiate different employer State ID number.

If the EIN number in box b is the same and you work in more than 1 state or city, sometimes they will give you another W2 with the extra state information on it and the top part the same or not filled in. If this is the case, list one W-2 but include both state or local taxes on it. It will let you type in more than one line for boxes 15-20. Don't add the boxes together.
Same for boxes 12 & 14 if there is no room on the first W2 they can give you another W2 with the extra boxes on it. So list them all on 1 W2. For box 12 just enter it in the next row or box. It doesn't have to match the box 12a-d etc.
You can enter one W-2 and add any extra states so that there is one entry and you will be able to efile.
