IRS missed their targets:
Form 1116 new ready date is currently 3/3/2022
But Form 1116 Sch B for carryover - not until 3/31/2022
Answering my own question; per the IRS, Form 1116 and instructions were available in December.
Cross posted. They say it was available but it actually wasn't??
It's Feb 26...still no form 1116. any idea when it will be ready? holding up filing due to this.
Agreed.
The complexity of the tax code provides terrible companies such as Turbo Tax the opportunity to make huge profits.
We are pretty much forced to buy these defective software products to simply file a tax return.
What a rip off.
It's 2/26 and the form in TurboTax is still not showing it can be filed. Any update on when TurboTax will have the form ready to be filed?

As has been previously stated on this thread -
Form 1116, Foreign Tax Credit for tax year 2021 is estimated to be finalized and available in TurboTax on 03/03/2022
Go to this TurboTax website for IRS forms availability - https://care-cdn.prodsupportsite.a.intuit.com/forms-availability/turbotax_fed_online_individual.html
I am still unable to file due to this issue. If this was added on February 17, why is it still showing unavailable?
I'm not holding my breath. This date has been moved twice already. It's a complex form. Cut 'em a hus....
Reminds me of delays at airports. Their training manual probably tells them to announce that the problem (say a mechanical issue with the plane) will be fixed in 15 minutes. After 15 minutes they make the same announcement again....and again.---etc.
2/26/22 form 116 is still not available, When is Turbo tax incorporating it?
And, IRS moved the dates since your post. 3/31/2022 to get 1116 and 1116B.
Thanks for the link, by the way.
But 1116 B, for carryover from previous years, is delayed until 3/301/2022...
The IRS has moved no dates
IRS had released 1116 and instructions in early Jan.
TT Intuit is still estimated 3/3 for form 1116 and 3/31 for 1116B. The same dates have been posted for the past two weeks on the TT web site.
Does not mean the dates will not slip again.
