My son got medicaid benefits from 2024. He is currently undergraduate student and I paid his tuition in 2023. I already got American opportunity tax credit for him long time ago. So, the only tax benefit from support for my sons is dependent claim ($500 credit, Is ti right?).
I have more questions as follows.
1) Can I claim dependent claim for him in 2023?
2) I will pay his tuition in 2024, too. Can I claim him for dependent tax credit even though he got medicaid benefits?

It seems like you are asking if claiming your son as a dependent could interfere with his Medicaid benefits---and that is not a question we can answer here. That is a question for Medicaid.
From a tax standpoint---you can claim your son as a dependent if he meets the criteria to be your qualifying child or qualified relative.
WHO CAN I CLAIM AS A DEPENDENT?
You can claim a child, relative, friend, or fiancé (etc.) as a dependent on your 2023 taxes as long as they meet the following requirements:
Qualifying child
Qualifying relative
And....You mentioned that you got the American Opportunity Credit a "long time ago." You do know that you can get that credit for the first FOUR years of his undergraduate college time, right?
