MD->TX. Starting a new franchise business

I moved from MD to TX in Feb '21 after I left my job in Dec '20.  I have decided to establish residency in TX and start a franchise business here.  Are any of my moving expenses considered tax deductible, either personal or business?  The franchisor didn't require me to move, the decision was made after I arrived.

Unfortunately, the answer is no.  Moving expenses are only deductible if you are in the military and moving for military purposes, for federal income tax purposes.  Some states still allow moving expenses as a deduction, but Maryland is not one of them.  Texas has no state income tax, and thus has no state income tax deduction either.
