I used desktop TurboTax Home Business 2020 on a MacOS Mojave 10.14.6 and was told I must upgrade to be able to use TurboTax for 2021. If I start using the online version of TurboTax will I still need to upgrade for 2021 or will the online version for 2021 work on my current MacOS?

Personally I would never use online (other then answering questions in this forums). The interview is too "hand-holding" for me and lacks the forms mode. Also, if you do more the one tax return it will be expensive since each online account is only good for one tax return.
You can go to turbotax.com and start online for free and walk through the interview to make up your own mind.
Online only requires a comparable browser. Older computers work fine.
I have used desktop TurboTax for >30 years and have been reluctant to move to online. What has your experience been with doing your taxes online?
