With the new irs guidance on ma PFML, do I have to amend my 2023 taxes if I did not include it for 2023? once i did it, it was taxing me as if it was unemployment. But with the new law from my understanding it is not suppose to?

No you should not have to file and amended return for 2023. The IRS guidance applies to payments received after January 1, 2025. Here is the what is listed, "On January 15, 2025, the IRS issued Revenue Ruling 2025-4, which explains the federal income tax implications of benefits received from a state administered paid family and medical leave program that mirrors the PFML program. The federal guidance is effective for payments made on or after January 1, 2025."
