In working on my Mothers taxes I note the section for long-term care services. She lives by herself and we have Visiting Angels come 3 times a week. Her Doctor had questioned what we were doing since she lives by herself and was satisfied with the care we are providing. We have cameras as well family checking on her daily. We are looking at a nursing facility and the Doctor had to complete a portion of the application providing her medical diagnosis/condition - dementia. Do we need to have him confirm that the service we utilized in 2022 was necessary? Is there a form that he would need to provide? Is this service deductible as they assist with personal care?
