line 2a of 1040 does not match turbo tax total of tax exempt interest and dividends

Help!

I noticed that the tax exempt interest total in line 2a is lower than what I see in turbo tax interview questions (tax exempt interest column + tax exempt dividend column). is turbo tax not totalling line 2a correctly?

Thank you

Tax-exempt interest is reported in Box 11 on Form 1099-DIV, together with ordinary dividends and qualified dividends. Box 11 amount goes on Line 2a, dividends go on Line 3. You can compare the amounts on your 1099-DIV form with the lines on Form 1040.
