If I paid for the premier program, it includes both state and federal. I have not received my state return yet. I did receive my federal return automatically deposit to my bank account -$55. What is that -$55 for if I paid for the software at Costco,?

Are you saying you owed tax to the IRS and they took $55.00 out of your bank account?
Or, are you saying the IRS deposited a $55.00 refund into your account?
The tax you owe or the refund you get has nothing to do with the cost for purchasing TurboTax.
Or was your federal refund deposit reduced for $55? That could be for the state efile fee. In the Desktop program it is $25 to efile a state return. But you get a $10 rebate from Costco. So it’s $15. Then if you want the $15 deducted from your federal refund there is an Extra $40 Refund Processing Service charge. So 15+40=55. People get going too fast to efile and don’t read the screens slowly and click on the wrong button. You could have paid the $15 with a credit card to avoid the extra fee. I buy from Costco too.
In the Desktop program you get one free state PROGRAM download to prepare unlimited state returns. Then each state return (including the first one) is $25 to efile. Or you can print and mail state for free.
I paid $85 for premier at Costco, which should include federal and state taxes. I got my federal refund deposited to my account minus a $55 charge for some reason. Is that an electronic filing fee.? When I get my state return deposited to my bank, should I also expect an electronic filing fee as well deducted? Thanks
Thanks for the clarification
