My income was significantly reduced last year, and I started a business. No profit so far. Should I file jointly or separately? My wife didn’t work.
Joint is almost always the best way to file especially if your spouse doesn’t work. So you get an exemption for her. If you are self employed you file a Schedule C in your personal tax return for it.
