Itemized deductions vs standard

This is comment, not a question, but FYI, if you have significant charitable contributions and Turbo Tax decides the standard deduction is "lowest tax", it's only calculating based on the Federal tax, not the state.  I went in and manually changed to "itemized deductions" and my state tax dropped $1500 even though the Federal went up about $30.

If you itemize deductions TurboTax will automatically choose the federal standard deduction if better and the itemized deduction for state if that is better.
