Issue with upgrading software

how can I upgrade to Basic after I started the free version. the only option is giving me is re-directing me to irs.gov site  which I don't want. I would always upgrade to basic and pay the $39.99 fee. I looked it up and it said to use the Menu bar but there isn't one. help, I don't want to re do the whole tax return.

Hi, drodz,

You have two possible options: 

1) Complete your taxes to the end and once you hit File, it will tell you whether you qualify or not for Free File provided by the IRS. If not, it will prompt you to upgrade thus allowing you to transfer your tax information over into another version, i.e Deluxe.

2) Or, you will have to create another account on the TurboTax website. Make sure to sign off of your current account if you choose this second option.

TurboTax Basic version is only available for cd/download.
