There are likely many servers.  But there is an uptick in problems like yours tonight.   Several users have recently reported such tonight, while other users are connecting as usual without problem, including myself.  So there is likely a server or set of servers with problems.    You likely will just have to wait until later tonight or try again tomorrow.   You could try a different browser, if you have one handy,  but others experiencing this tonight said it didn't make a difference.

How are you trying to connect?  What type of device?  Are you using the mobile app or Online TurboTax with a computer?

Yes, they are having technical issues ... try again later or tomorrow.

I can't get into my account at all: what's up: site down? why?

Many people have multiple TT accounts and forget how to access them.  Log out of the account you are in now.

Or did you use the desktop version of TurboTax?  If so, the files are on your own hard drive or any backup device you used like a flash drive.
