No. The five federal e-file limit is not a TurboTax limit. It is an IRS limit. If you have more than five federal returns to file, then you have to file the additional returns by mail.
The 5 e-file limit is imposed on all consumer-level tax prep software by the IRS. You would have to upgrade to a professional version, or file with a professional, to e-file more than 5 returns.
It's suck. Will not use turbo tax ever again. too expensive and limited option.

Regardless of which tax preparation software is used the IRS has imposed a limit of 5 federal tax returns that can be e-filed with personal tax preparation software. That limit cannot be changed.
Is there a reason that a rejected 5th filing limit cannot be saved in Turbo Tax and later opened in another single use Turbo Tax program, such as Deluxe? The rejection was shown, as I did not know my son-in-law had already used the 5 for his family and did not tell me to not use his program! It is hard to believe that Turbo Tax will take NO RESPONSIBILITY in assisting those of us caught in the "5 filing" trap. Why is is that the data from the rejected filing cannot be imported into a "non 5 limit" program, yet I was able to delete much of the data that was imported into the single use program and able to get it filed. Why can't Turbo Tax delete whatever identifying data (indicating 5 had already been filed) so the "cleansed" data does not cause the 5 limit rejection?
THIS IS A TURBO TAX FAILURE AND NOTHING TO DO WITH THE IRS REJECTION ITSELF! Why can I change things in the attempted use of the "rejected return" data to avoid getting the electronic filing rejected....BUT Turbo Tax cannot help IN ANY WAY? Too many people find it easier to insist that Turbo Tax has no responsibility for assisting "us" in using the "single use" program, after "our" mistake in using their 5 filing program when it had already been used by 5 others in our extended family, without our knowledge? Only persistence on my part allowed me to LEGALLY file a single use return and save the "paper filing" hassle.
Sorry this was so long but those who have responded seem to absolve TurboTax of ANY responsibility, which is wrong. They almost inferred that I found solution... and it was illegal??
The 5 return limit is imposed by the iRS on the electronic return originator, you. So if the iRS were to catch you any sanctions or penalties would be imposed on you.

IRS regulations limit you personally, the originator of the tax return, to 5 e-filed returns. I can think of several possible ways around the limit, but I have no reason to test them to see what might work, and Turbotax is not in the business of helping people avoid IRS regulations (they are probably barred from doing so by the terms of their e-file agreement with the IRS). So while there might be a workaround, you will have a hard time finding someone here to advise you how to "beat" the system, and I have no idea what penalties or sanctions the IRS might be able to enforce if they caught you.
